locally in Winchendon, MA, and remotely in Manhattan, NY.
The ideal Systems Support Assistant would be motivated and driven by a desire to solve problems of varying complexity, to seek out new methods and technologies, and possess a continuous improvement mindset.
Our Systems Support Assistant will work as a valuable member of our two-person IT Team to assist in the installation, maintenance, and general support of our systems and infrastructure.
This position reports to the IT Director and is a full-time position with benefits.
Requirements and expectations:
Friendly, service-oriented attitude and the ability to easily make connections with others Ability to communicate and resolve technical problems with a non-technical community Self-motivated, takes initiative, and is able to work independently Works well in a team environment and can escalate cases in a timely manner, where needed Willing to learn and be trained in new IT skills & IT processes Creative problem solver who is familiar with the basics of configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining computer hardware and software Work well with third-party vendors to coordinate and resolve hardware/software problems Primary point of contact for incoming support requests from The Winchendon School community via a helpdesk ticketing system, telephone, and email in a courteous and professional manner Monitors, coordinates, and communicates support requests and issue resolutions in a timely manner Helps maintain inventory by keeping track of where or to whom assets are assigned through an asset tracking system Implements move, add, and change requests for computers, networking, service accounts, and telephone equipment Provides support to various A/V and videoconferencing systems Provides user-friendly, hands-on support to the community in multiple locations Maintains and supports print equipment; resolves issues as they arise Values a continuous improvement and growth mindset, both for themselves as well as the community Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
infrequently, and team lift up to 50 lbs on rare occasions Can, on occasion, climb ladders to work from heights ranging from 6 to 12 feet above the ground Familiar with the safe and appropriate use of hand and power tools And, other duties as assigned by the IT Director An Associate's Degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience is desired.
However, the ideal candidate expresses and demonstrates an ability to learn quickly, think and act with agility, and works collaboratively with a diverse community, in an unorthodox technical environment.
The ideal candidate is also resourceful, demonstrating the ability to seek instructions or guidance from various sources when and where necessary.
Some degree of creativity and latitude is required above and beyond a basic familiarity with technical concepts, standards, and best practices.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
